Petite Bra Fitting Guide - How to Find the Perfect Bra For AA-B Bra Cup Sizes
If you are a petite-busted woman with an AA-B bra cup size and small frame, you already know first-hand how difficult it is to find bras that fit and flatter your petite body. Department stores and lingerie boutiques focus on larger bra cup sizes, making it difficult if not impossible for women with small busts to find bras that fit and enhance petite curves.
But rest-assured it is possible for women with AA, A and B bra cup sizes to find petite bras that not only fit, but make them feel great about their bodies, too. First, it is crucial to avoid the following pitfalls when selecting a petite bra:
DO NOT worry if your breasts are different sizes--most are! Adjust the strap tighter on the side where your smaller breast is or use a padded insert in the cup of the smaller breast.
DO NOT wear a bra that digs in and leaves red marks or indentations around the shoulders, sides or back.
DO NOT allow an under-wire bra to rest on your breast tissue--the wire should sit comfortably on your ribcage.
DO NOT sacrifice comfort and fit for a pretty bra. You will feel most sexy in a comfortable, great fitting bra!
Now that you know what to avoid, follow the guidelines below to ensure the perfect fitting petite bra:
DO make sure the bra cups sit next to your skin with no puckering or gaps.
DO buy a bra that fits comfortably but is snug on the loosest clasp to allow for stretching over time.
DO ensure that you can place one finger under the front part of the band, and two fingers under the back part of the band to take the pressure off your shoulders. The band should do more work than the straps.
DO consider trying the next band size smaller or adjusting the band tighter if your straps keep falling down or if the band is riding up in the front and/or back.
DO periodically measure yourself for the correct band and cup size. Exercise, pregnancy and weight gain/loss can change your measurements.
Above all, it is important to remember that what truly makes someone attractive is NOT their bra cup size, but the natural confidence they possess. There is nothing sexier than someone who is obviously comfortable in their own skin and who comes across like they feel beautiful. And that is the ultimate goal: Getting to a point where you can look in the mirror and accept and LOVE what you see.
